This object was written to deal with occasional spurious outputs from objects such as "fiddle". The idea is to reject values that are too different from the previous value: an input stream such as 61.1, 61.2, 61.3, 73, 61.4, 61.5 will produce the output 61.1, 61.2, 61.3, 61.3 (repeated), 61.4, 61.5.
