What's wrong with [begin~]?

Why is C74 trying to phase out this object? Sure, mute~ can do the same thing with the tiniest amount of additional progging, but it’s not as convenient or straightforward, IMO.

do you mean their note, that the object is deprecated?

being still on 4.63 i begin to enjoy [begin~] very much over [mute~] myself. it seems, that for easy operation, mute requires far too many “doodles” around it, and one thing i really don’t understand, is why it works only from outside a subpatcher.

one of those 2 cents things, but i am a beginner, as an excuse.

maybe [pass~] in conjunction with [mute] justifies it’s existence

I understand that begin~ is an unreliable hack that has caused as much heartache (both inside and outside C74) as aid.

Any of the developers can shed more light than I can, but I suspect they are all sick to the teeth of begin~, and David may possibly regret having ever introduced the object.

So much for what I know.-
