where can I find the latest patch that makes Arudino communicate MAX MSP

where can I find the latest patch that makes Arudino communicate MAX MSP

I am trying to use an Ultrasonic range sensor and I tested pin 7 using the current patch I have. I got weird date. I also tested the sketcher and uploaded in Arudino firmware and the sensor works fine.

if you post your Max patch here, i can test it for you; if your arduino patch is working then it must be something in your max patch

Thank you Brendan. I attached my test patch. Basically I selected the right USB port and toggled on the analog and there are data coming from pin 7 but they are weird. Am I using the right patch? I am new to Arduino. Thanks a lot.

What do you mean by weird data??? You need to explain more about the actual problem you have so people can help a little more. What Arduino board are you using?? If its the Duemilanove, then there are only Analog pins 0 to 5, so are you using the Digital pin 7???

I have an Arduino and have used this same patch – with the analog inputs i found the data to be not what i expected, e.g. Analog Pin 1 was giving readings of 0.00034 and below, but not continuously, just flicking between a few different readings. I scrapped the idea of using this patch and instead modified my Arduino code to send data to the Serial port, then made a patch in Max to read that using the Serial object.

I had the same problem rumblist, I sorted it by using the firmata that comes with arduino 0018

the analog outputs then give a float between 1 and 0 which can be upscaled

This patch worked fine for me when i used it with proximity sensors.
Also, I had to change the baud rate in the Ardiuno Firmata to 57600.

I am not sure I fully understand this. I am kind of new to Max/Msp communicating with Arduino. I tried to plug in my sensor with Max using the latest patch by Colinz (see above). There are data showing correctly when I upload the sketch to Arduino.pde (I can see how far I am away from the range sensor both in INCH and Centimeter). After that, I quitted Arduino.pde and opened the Max patch. Selected the correct USB port and check digital pin 7 ( Ultrasonic range sensor connected to digital pin 7). Nothing seems to happen? I was wondering where I can see the data (the distance to the range sensor)? Is there a step by step tutorial on how to do this.
Attached is a screen shot of the Max patch when I plugged my arduino/range sensor in. I selected the USB port and Pin 7 (circled in red). Nothing happens? Where am I supposed to see the distances?

Depending on the type of the ultrasonic sensor digital pin 7 may not be the suitable output for the sensor.
What is the brand/model of the ultrasonic sensor?

i have been messing with arduino mega and the maxuino environment, really useful and super easy. the latest release is 008. actually cycling 74 have just done an interview with the cat from maxuino. give it a check out
