I’ve spent too long going over the documentation, and can’t figure this out.

On one of my computers, I’ve installed the CNMAT MMJ externals, and when I create a new object and start typing, these appear in the suggestions as a type.

However, on another computer, where the external objects are in the same file path, this does not happen.

What do I need to do to make a collection of 3rd party externals appear in the autocomplete/autosuggest list when creating an object?

“Object Box Autocompletion” is on, and working for the built-in Max objects.

I want it to work for 3rd party externals, like cv.jit and CNMAT MMJ.

Perhaps check your capitalisation. The CNMAT object instantiates when I type [osc-route] but only pops up in the autocompletion box when i type [OSC-route]. Same for [opensoundcontrol] vs. [OpenSoundControl] etc.

You might want to rename all your .mxo files so that they’re lower case. Seeing as max doesn’t differentiate between lower and upper case letters in object names it won’t break compatibility and it’ll mean you can get them in the autocomplete drop-down without having to remember which bits to capitalise. I should probably do this myself, should be trivial with automator on a mac.
