which Leds are recommendable for dmx control via Max/MSP
Hi all,
I've been reading the forums about dmx light control and there is a lot of information.
My only question is what kind of leds chain are recommendable for this kind of light design, where I'm wating to control color and intensity.
It is color kinetics from Philips the best option? http://www.colorkinetics.com/
Thanks a lot for the help
David
It massively depends on your application. What are you using the lights for?
I have to control the light of a room that has a light line over the edges of the room in the ceiling and the floor, more or less Tron's aesthetics.
I'm planning to use this http://www.enttec.com/index.php?main_menu=Products&prod=70304&show=description for the control, but still searching for good leds. And i don't know if with only one controller I could control all the lights.
Thanks
David
OK, are the fixtures you need for creating these light lines? If so, maybe have a look at the PixieBrink and PixieEdge systems http://www.pixelpar.com/pixelrange/product_pixie.htm.
You'd have to be using a lot of units before you'd run out of DMX channels, so one controller should be fine.
If you're using the enttec interface, you might be interested in this: https://cycling74.com/tools/imp-dmx-dmx-for-max/
Ah super nice! Thanks a lot for the answer. All of this information is very useful.
Hi.
I'm also interested in controling led via DMX protocol.
I'm still a beginner with DMX but the forum is indeed a great source of informations. { and david's great tool! :) }
nevertheless, I'm still troubled with dmx and led.
Idealy; I would like to find a way to control dozens of leds. So I have two main questions.
The first is related to pixelpar products mentioned before :
What are the " interface unit" they are talking about in specs column? I can't find it on their website; if you have any clue about that, thanks a lot.
My second question is about "cheaper" led and dmx set up.
I've seen a solution provided by brilldea called PropBlade.
http://www.brilldea.com/product_PropBlade.html
Maybe I'm misleading but as a beginner, it does not appear to be a clean/robust/easy to set up solution.
Thanks
