Wii data on a pc, not a mac, any help ?
Hello guys
I'm a noob in MAX MSP stuf, I'm a PC user and I'd love to get a patch that acquires data from my Wiimote. Aka.wiiremote does not seem to work. Any suggestions?
thanks a lot for any help!
Use GlovePIE (http://carl.kenner.googlepages.com/glovepie_download) to read the Wiimote, and output MIDI or OSC data.
There are a ton of example scripts in the GlovePie package, a bunch of them do Wii -> MIDI or Wii -> OSC mapping.
what is OSC data/mapping ?
OSC stands for open sound control, its a communication protocol (imagine a modern, flexible midi). Ask wikipedia or google for more information. If you want to use it then look at the CNMAT objects [osc-route] and [opensoundcontrol] at the link below which which will get OSC data into your patch and help you route it to the right destinations. They're really useful. Also you might want to search on the forum to see what other people have used OSC for.
