WiiMote/Balance Board reliability?

I’m wondering where people are at with these controllers and being able to have it recognized reliably? I haven’t done too well. I’ve followed the instructions carefully, as well as tried to find some other repeatable pattern from experimenting, and no luck on any consistent basis. I’ve used the original aka objects and also the newer disis ones. Any suggestions? Or are they just not solid and I need to make what I need?

I’ve got a brand-new MacBook Pro, up-to-date OS, and Max 5.0.7.

Thanks,
brian

A very reliable method – espeacially for live performances – would be to connect the Wii remote not directly through max but using the JunXion tool from Steim.
http://www.steim.org

And then send Midi data to max.(I think it also supports OSC in case you need a better resolution of data)

For Windows machines GlovePie (freeware) does a very good job.
