Wobble shader brightness problem

November 30, 2011 | 3:05 pm

Using the tx.wobble shader, I can’t seem to set the three lightpos values high enough to get the brightness on a processed image as high as that of the unprocessed image. Mac Pro, Max 6, Radeon 5870.

Here’s a simple test patcher:

Any love?

Thanks!

I think you’re the first person to ever try and use this shader. I can’t get it to do anything in Max5 or Max6. Looking at the shader code, it’s pulled from 3D labs (likely from the Orange Book). It’s not a very good shader and doesn’t respect how jit.gl.slab works. If you want to use the effect, you’ll have to edit the shader code and remove the light stuff. I really don’t know why it’s there. I’m going to do exactly that for 6.0.2.
