I started writing an external today, and because I don't do it often, I 

went looking for this pdf I used to have called "Writing External 

Objects for Max 4.0 and MSP 2.0" by David Z. I didn't find it anywhere 

on the Cycling site. I eventually came up with it, and since it is from 

2001 and (seemingly) not available from the C74 site, I was wondering if

haven't found any other concise source for external writing information...

Oh, hey.  nThere it is.  In the 4.5.5 SDK.  Wasn't included in 4.6 UB.
