Yet another Pattr request (simple one i guess)

October 18, 2006 | 9:27 pm

i think it would be great if the pattr had an attribute which could make it not pass the input to output, so the only thing passed would be stuff comming back from other pattr objects (e.g. pattrstorage in most cases)

simply to avoid this abstraction, which i’m using a lot… and i guess that having pattr do it s

I second this request…

in my case there is not always an object to bind to,- i also requested earlier that pattr could bind to an outlet, so you could use the binding feature in abstractions, wich is what i’m doing a lot… the bind would be static if no compatible object was connected to the outlet.

i never got any reply to this request, so i figured this would be simpler.

but thnx anyway

Hello, I’d like to prolong this discussion a bit.

When pattr 2 is bound to pattr 1 and you change the value of pattr 1, pattr 2 doesn’t output the new value. If pattr 2 is bound to a numbox instead, is does. I’d like to be able to set an attribute to control this behaviour. Is there anything like that?

Below is an explanationary patch.

I can’t reproduce, both are doing the same. Which Max version are you using?

You may want to check the incremental updates page [1] from time to
time. This problem was recently solved and a fix released.
