as you can see from patch or pic, i am really trying to step through how gen~ processes one sample at a time. My mai questio here is, is switch tested/queried/outputs at any time a value arrives at any inlet or only when a value is received in the first inlet? What trobles me, is that according to my step thru, event one (e1) seems to send both a value from the recipt at inlet 1 and inlet 2, which would cause 2 values backed up at history, both which seem problematically within the same sample frame. I lost my train of thought, so please not that my event scheduling loses it some point.

I suppose the more general question is, how does gen handle events? when we say that gen handles processing 1 sample at a time, per sample frame, does it follow right to left order? does switch respond to any value in any slot?

Seeking use of Ableton Link or any way to use a standalone Max 8 Patch that previously synced to Ableton Transport using Rewire. Rewire is not supported in Ableton 12. The patch isn't trivial to convert to Max for Live (would be broken up into device pieces used on multiple tracks, etc.), so, can "Link" be used instead? Does Standalone Max support Link?

For a live sound-art performance/concert  about relative time I was thinking of a real-time time-lapse recording of an environment, reducing a 2 hour period to 1 second slices, cross-faded into a 2 minute (stereo) WAV. I stumbled upon Andrew Spitz' phonoLapse (sounding a bit harsh) but couldn't find a download.. Anyway, I was more into making a Max patch myself but got stuck on the x-fading of the 1 sec samples... Any helping hand out there...?

I know that one can use {;max buildcollective .....} to automatically build a standalone from a top-level patcher using a build script but it doesn't work if the patch is part of a project.

The only way that I can find to build a project is to do it from the Project window using the Manage Project menu it the bottom toolbar.

Is there any other way in which this can be done so that the process could be automated?

When I build my standalone, I initiate a process that updates the version number (used in several ways elsewhere in the Standalone) saves the project, and locks it, amongst other things. What I would like to do is to add something that then automatically builds the project before exiting Max.
