Real-time audio-responsive lighting and projections combining Ableton Live, Cycling 74′ Max 6, Resolume Arena, Lemur for iPad, and an Enttec USB DMX Pro.

Custom-made Max 6 environment that analyzes audio from all the individual members of the band in real time and converts the signals to Midi and DMX messages. The midi messages are routed to various levels and effects in Resolume Arena, which is in turn controlled by Ableton Live and Lemur for iPad. The DMX messages are then routed to the Enttec USB DMX Pro and venue lighting.

How was MAX used?

We created an environment in Max 6 that analyzed all the individual streams of audio coming to the Front of House board (via direct outs), and converted the signals to MIDI and DMX protocols, which were used to control and interact with all the shows visual elements.
