Proper Ties – generative sound environment

Karlheinz Essl demonstrates how his sound installation Proper Ties was created with MaxMSP. This generative sound environment uses noises from our environment, bodies and machines and morphs them algorithmically with the chant of a female, extracted from Karlheinz Essl’s composition Sequitur IX for mezzo soprano and live-electronics.

The video was taken during a lecture at the Hoge School voor de Kunsten (Faculty of Arts, Media and Technology, Hilversum) on December 9th, 2010.
