TELEMUSIK Structure 6 and 7 on Max 5

Juan
October 2010
Amsterdam

In this example, we have realized an entire structure of Stockhausen’s TELEMUSIK; namely the glissandi in structures 6 and 7. In brief, a function generator is programmed to generate a train of pulses at a relatively fast frequency and gradually slow down to a frequency of 0.222 Hz (1/4.5 Hz). This generator is then used in 8 simultaneous tracks, each controlled by a different evolution envelope.

How was MAX used?

Both the audio circuit and the presentation of the patch were entirely realized within Max 5.

Are you making this patch available? I clicked on the link at the klangwereld.org site, but it comes up as “page not found”. I would love to study what you’ve done closer.

Hi,
The patch is ready for download at http://www.klankwereld.org (notice it spells klanK and not klanG).
You’ll find it in the Observatory section.
