Frequently Asked Questions
- Can you explain the name of the company?
The name Cycling '74 comes from a 1974 bicycle catalog from which some of the images that decorated our original site were, uh, inspired (scanned and modified). - Does the company sell bicycle products?
We have no particular interest in bicycling per se although we support the use of bicycles as a form of transportation. -
What kind of a company is Cycling '74? Where are you located?
I assume by "what kind of company" you are asking if Cycling '74 is a startup financed by massive investments from Silicon Valley's leading venture capital companies or this is basically one guy fronting as a company, which seems pretty easy to do these days.Cycling '74 was founded in 1997 by David Zicarelli to sell some of the software he had lying around the house. The company currently has 22 full- or part-time employees and consultants scattered around in various places, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. To see a list of employees and consultants, and see a photo of our building, visit our People page.
- Do you have a corporate mission statement? What are you trying to accomplish?
Our mission is never to have, or need, a mission statement. "The software is the mission statement," is the mission statement we might have, but since we don't have a mission statement, it isn't our mission statement. - Do you own any other domain names?
Yes, we own soundflower.com, pluggo.com, c74.com,loadbang.com, and synthesisters.com. - Does Cycling '74 belong to any organizations?
Yes. NAMM, AES, and IMSTA to name a few. - How can I get in touch with Cycling '74?
Our contact page lists information about how to locate the company's office. - How do I submit a change of address or e-mail?
E-mail details to register@cycling74.com. - Do you have any job openings? Where can I send my resume?
In a capitalist society, there is always an opening for someone who will do the work of three employees for half the pay. Visit our Jobs page for contact information.
