Pluggo Authorization and Licensing

If I use several sequencing programs on the same hard disk, will I need to authorize Pluggo to run with each one?

The authorization is tied to the System Folder, not a particular application. If you do a clean reinstall of your system, you will need to reinstall and reauthorize.

Where can I get complete authorization instructions?

For complete instructions on authorizing various versions of Pluggo, go to the authorization instructions page.

What happens if I lose my authorization code for Pluggo version 3 or earlier?

As long as you have registered with Cycling '74, we have a record of your serial number and Registration ID. If you have already installed Pluggo successfully on a particular machine, you can run Authorize Pluggo and see your Registration ID and serial number. If you did not purchase Pluggo directly from Cycling '74 and have not registered, please do so at http://www.cycling74.com/register and provide your serial number and Registration ID. You can request a your authorization code from challenge@cycling74.com.

I use ProTools on my desktop machine and Digital Performer on my Powerbook. Do I need to purchase two copies of Pluggo to use with both machines?

The license says you can install multiple copies, but you can only use one at a time. As long as you aren't using Pluggo on both machines at the same time, you are complying with the terms of the license. However, don't take this to mean that you can install Pluggo on a hundred computers at Goldman Sachs or in a university lab where you would claim that only one copy of Pluggo will be in use at any one time. That's clearly contrary to the spirit of the license agreement. If you're interested in this sort of licensing, get details on quantity discounts at the cycling74.com website.

I am going to be traveling a bit over the holidays and I want to move my Pluggo authorization from my desktop computer to my laptop. How do I go about doing this?

If you own Pluggo version 3 or eariler, just copy the installer to your laptop, install, then use Authorize Pluggo to enter your authorization code. If you own 3.5 or later, download a new installer and request a Challenge/Response authorization.

Your Pluggo license allows you to install the software on more than one machine as long as you (or someone else) is not using the software at the same time. Multiple-license customers are covered for the same number of Pluggo installations. Information on quantity discounts is available from the cycling74.com website.

The directions say to use the Authorize Pluggo application to enter my authorization code, but I can't find the application. Where is it?

If you're installing Pluggo on a Windows machine, the Authorize Pluggo application is installed into the C:\Program Files\Cycling '74\Pluggo folder. On a Macintosh, it's in the Pluggo Applications folder in your Applications folder.

I've got an iLok. Can I authorize my copy of Pluggo for it?

Yes, Pluggo also supports authorization via a PACE iLok hardware dongle. You'll need an account at ilok.com in order to receive an authorization. For more information about this, visit this page.

If you have an ilok.com account, authorization instructions can be found at http://www.cycling74.com/instructions
