Here, some compatibility abstractions to bridge old ways of managing lists (McCartney objects) and new objects (zl).
Although Richard Dudas has recompiled the McCartney set, these abstractions are here for those who want to slowly switch over to "official" objects that do the same thing.
In addition, an abstraction version of Dudas' flip object, which anyway started life as an abstraction of mine
