I have 10+ polybuffers with 2200 samples each preloaded (no problem at all, just one or two seconds long each sample). I need something to play them (just play the file, I don't need slicing or any time-related function, maybe just speed of reproduction) that could be fast and reliable. The project would send audio to eight speakers using a circular panner.

I've seen and tested wave~ groove~ and play~ and many implementations using one or another. As I have to make eight voices that would be playing these samples (sometimes all eight at the same time, panning at different velocities each and with different FX chains) I would like to be sure of the best method. What do you recommend in terms of speed and low complexity in this environment?

Also for the multichannel space (eight speakers in circular configuration / 360) is necessary the mc implementations of these controls (like mc.play~) ?

btw: any suggestions for a good spatialization library? (currently considering spat by Ircam)

groove~ will sound better if you change the pitch (if that's what you mean with "speed of reproduction") because the other objects do not interpolate. Maybe create a poly~ with 8 voices which can also include the fx chain per voice. I haven't used spatialisation yet, but I'm sure someone else can share their knowledge.
