This update is primarily a maintenance update, focused on improvements on network connectivity and application stability. But there are a few functional additions as well. First, you will now find that the Mira-displayed UI elements (dials, messages and number boxes) will support Max 7-style color changes from the host Max patch. This is an important change for helping your Mira display match the UI of your host-based patch.

But perhaps the most important addition is that Mac users can now have a tethered connection to their computer! Rather than depending on a wireless network to provide Max-to-Mira connectivity, you can directly connect an iPad to your Mac through a USB connection. This can further enhance connection stability, especially in performance and installation spaces with poor wireless options.

I decided to take a few minutes to use the new Mira for some analog synth mayhem - and since I already had a nice snippet for doing two-finger XY control, it took me longer to do the analog cabling than to set up the Mira patch. Here’s a short video:

Universal app please! I would love to use also my iPhone to control my Max patches.

There are no Android or iPhone plans at the moment.

Can I also put a vote for an iPhone MIRA? I would be using it within an augmented instrument for which an iPad is simply to big and to heavy. Currently I am using a shared desktop app but I expect MIRA to be updating much smoother as I have seen MIRA being used on iPads.
