outlet

Send messages out of a patcher

Description

outlet can be used within a patcher to transmit messages outside that patcher. Each outlet object in a patch will show up as an outlet at the bottom of an object box when the patcher is used inside another patcher (as an object or a subpatch). Messages received in the outlet object embedded within a subpatch will come out of the corresponding outlet in the subpatch's object box within the patcher that contains it.

Arguments

None.

Messages

(mouse) Double-clicking on an outlet object will open the parent patch or bring it to front.

Attributes

Name Type g/s Description
comment object Sets the mouse-over Assistance message for the outlet. This value can only be set using the Comment setting in the inlet object's Inspector.

Information for box attributes common to all objects

Output

anything: Any messages received by outlet in a subpatch are sent out the outlet of that subpatch, through patch cords.
