A few questions

    Hi there,
I am in my final year of a BA (HONS) Fine Art at northumbria university.
I'm wanting to construct an instalation where a 3D Model of a man on a
projection screen dances to the audience depending on the amount of noise
they make. If theres no noise the man would just be stood lookign bored, a
bit of noise he might start jumping up and down on the spot a bit, lots of
noise and hed dance like a mad man. The way I wish to achieve this is to
have an audio input (this bit i can learnt from tutorial28 in Jitter) which
then affects the start and end points of a movie being played (i think this
is the best way to achieve it?). The movie which i used would be a series
of loops, so say the movie is 60 seconds long 0-5 seconds might be him
looking around (every loop starts and ends with the man in exactly the same
position). where 30-35 seconds migth be him jumping up and down a little
55-60 seconds is him goign absaloutly nuts. I hope that explains how i
    believe i can achieve this.
Problem is i have no idea where to find info on:
changing the start and end points of a movie and connecting this to the
audio input so that with x amount of noise it plays 0-5 seconds with y
amount of noise it plays 30-35 etc. Connecting it all together. Being able
to change x and y 'on the fly' so that the movie is not constantly him just
standing around or him goign crazy.
Displaying the movie in a window so that it can take up a screen on its
own. I'm imagining plugging a proector in to my laptop having the movie
siplay on the projector side of the screen and the program on the laptops
screen. I assume this bit is done by jit.qt.movie but then with a full
screen button that i seem to have seen in 1 of the tutorials.
Any pointers on this would be very much apreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Richard

From your questions, it sounds like you need to spend a little bit
more time with the Max and MSP tutorials. However, also keep in mind
that you might have more flexible control by managing the movie
playback on your own (i.e. with the time or frame messages to
jit.qt.movie), rather than changing the movies QT looppoints. Note
that this requires a decent understanding of Max itself and isn't a
      Jitter issue per se.

Simply move the window to a second window either with the mouse or
the "pos" attribute (floating needs to be enabled on windows
machines) and then send the fullscreen 1 message to jit.window.
      Good luck.
