about max and quicktime movie

    Mar 01 2006 | 11:20 am
    hello,
im trying to synchronise sounds with a movie but with
    not luck.
the movie object does not have a output for the
    position of the clip.
so i used 'metro' with the message 'time' and a
'select' object to trigger sound in a particular
    position of the clip.
it does work sometimes but most of the time it does
    not.
is there any way or other objects for max which could
output the position of the clip??
i looked on maxobject site and there are solutions but
only for jitter which i dont have.
and also is there any ways that i can output the movie
from max to the video out of the computer??
thanks in advance for your suggestions
    best
    j.

instead of select, try >= and a change object, though i haven't tested it.

you're really better off with jitter if you are serious about stuff like this...

on my pb, i can enlarge the desktop over multiple screens and you can move any window to the other screen. don't know about pc, since winmax doesn't have floating windows.

You need to test if the position has passed: [> position]-[sel 1]-[change]
      this should get you going

what kind of mac is it?
the "professional" models offer an extended desktop, i.e. if you plug-in an extra monitor, instead of mirroring, you get a second desktop. you can drag any window to it, as one side of your screen becomes boundless and flows into the second, you can set this in system preferences.
all this is on the the apple equivalent of vga port, don't know about s-video and the like.
      cheers
