ADB through iMate into Max?

I noticed that a friend has a weird but spiffy partial ADB keyboard that I want to try to make him give me, but I don't know if I have a way to get ti into max. I have an iMate (ADB>USB adaptor) that I've never used that will obviously connect the keyboard to the computer. How would I get that into max? Might it just show up as a keyboard, or become visible via [hi]? Serial? Any ideas?

You mean the old standalone numeric keypad (with or without function keys)? It'll probably show up as the same thing it shows up as when it's connected to a real ADB mac, assuming it doesn't need a custom driver.
I'm still using an old Apple extended keyboard via iMate, because I like the keyboard feel.

So to clarify, Max sees your ADB keyboard as a normal keyboard?
