for a project, i'm looking for a reasonably priced projector; main
criterium (next to acceptable power & contrast of course) is the
short throw distance it should have.
i'm back-projecting on 2 screens, each 3m wide, and have to deal with
limited stage sizes - so the projector should not be much further
than 3m away from the screens.
for the premiere, i had access to 2 sony beamers with extra wide
angle lenses, but for the tour i'll have to buy - with a budget less
wide than the lens angles, I'm afraid.
and as the combination of a projector-that-has-the-option-to-change-
the-lens *plus* a wide angle lens is ridiculously expensive, i was
hoping to find a native wide angle projector.
unfortunately, none of the comparison charts i could find online
offer lens angle as search criterium.
the only that projectorcentral.com spit out was the Sanyo PLC-XU58,
witch has a throw ratio of 1.2 -1.9 : 1
although my ideal throw ratio would be 1 : 1, this one may work in
so my questions are:
- does anybody have experience with the sanyo? (not much reviews or
so out there...)
- or is there another native-wide-angle-projector with a throw ratio
of between 1 : 1 and 1.25 : 1?
- is there a nice source of information on wide angle projectors?
- any other tips, maybe on not *that* expensive combos of projector
+wide angle lens?
wide angle thanks,
