I have an autogenerative patch that I'm quite happy with so far. I can leave it playing and it ticks along nicely. However I was just wondering what might be the best way to create sort of pseudo-track ends and track starts. It will be for a permanent installation so I want there to have some moments of silence in between so as to not make it so repetitive and to feel like "tracks" flow in and out gently. Additionally, I would like the patch to use that silent moment to change the scale quantization in the background so that the next "track" feels somewhat different than the one precedes it.

I was thinking of maybe automating it via some randomised ramp that gives fades out to silence and prolongs it for a few minutes and come back in again, but am not sure if this is the best way to go about it and similarly how the logic would be best laid out. Ideally I would like there to be some level of control as to a) Roughly how long each "passage" lasts for, and b) how long the range of silence/pause in between them will be. With some level of probability range determining each.
