    Whats the best way to create a pretty user interface for a max patch.

      you can use udp and/or osc in max to tx/rx to just about anything.

      Have you looked at the tutorials in Max? Click the "Help" menu in Max and look at all the tutorials. There are several specifically about UI design.

      open sound control in c sharp must be around too. never had to mess with c# much since processing.org and openframeworks already have libraries for both udp and osc.

      Max is perfectly capable on its own.
