Best way to loop 16 track playback?

    May 28 2008 | 8:22 pm
    Hi again excellent list,
I need to loop a couple minutes of at least 16 tracks of audio without a gap. I'm thinking I would start 2 sfplay~ objects at the same time in loop mode. Also, I'm a little confused about how to name and or open the multiple audio files to be looped. Any words of wisdom before I start maxing around with this?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Is this looping of 16 tracks at the same time, or end to end?
Do you want a crossfade? The "open" command should open a file.
You can put the files in a directory and have ubumenu populate
itself with those file names. Then randomly select from the
      choices in the ubumenu.

Although not officially supported, I've used sfplay~ with as many as
32 tracks, if that's any help. You can make .aiffs with loads of
tracks using Emmanuel Jordan's handy SoundFilesMerger app. find it
      here:

      Thanks for the reply Anthony
Sorry I should have been more specific, looping synchronized playback of 16 simultaneous tracks is what I'm after.

      hi,
in this topic, you're speaking of crossfading tracks.
May i have the patch you're speaking about, please ?
because i "merely" need to crossfade 4 sliders
(by couples : 1/2, then 2/3, then 3/4 in the end)
but i don't know how to map this.
i guess the patch you're speaking about
      would be helpfull.
if you have any idea, so let me know here !
      thanksx1000
