I'd like to buy the book 'Designing Audio Objects for Max/MSP' and Pd by Eric Lyon, but here in Europe the price is ridiculously high… The average price (Amazon co.uk, it, de, fr) is 140 euros (about 180 $)! In Amazon.com the price is 50 $ (about 38 euros)… Maybe Eric knows something more about the book's distribution… :)

Last time I looked, Amazon.com will deliver books anywhere in the world. The cost of shipping is higher outside the US, but nowhere near the approximately €100 price differential you're seeing.
As a convenience, you can log on to all the Amazon.* outlets using the same ID (e-mail address) and password.
I often order directly from Amazon outlets outside my country of residence. I do a cross-check first, sometimes the price differential is less than the higher shipping fees. It all depends on the product.

The problem at least for me, is the lack of a tracking delivery option. Amazon doesn't sell this book directly and the seller doesn't provide a tracking service. How many items never delivered to me by the italian postal service when there was no european branch…
