I'm loading around 2 hours of uncompressed audio (stereo) to a buffer on a 32 gb ram machine on 64 bits. (win 7)

this in order to do reverse, scrub, fast forward, fast rewind on a more like (reel tape) style.

i'm using info~ to see the time position when is playing, all of this plays good for a while but after some use it freezes.

I read here in the forum about buffer fragmentation, cleaning the ram or trying to re-initiate the object

what is true is that all is ok after restarting. I would like to know more about this issue but more importantly I would like to know

a more "elegant" thing to do in this case
