capture from FireWire DV like in iMovie or FinalCut

    Hi!
I?m working on a video project and I try to capture from a FireWire Cam in PAL resolution with jit.qt.grab and jit.qt.record.
With this solution I always have performance problems on a G5 1,8 ghz.
I can?t capture at the full framerate of 25fps.
Capturing video in iMovie or FinalCut works also on a slow G3 very fine.
Do you have some advice for me to do some "iMovie-like" capturing in max?
    cheers flo

Try this. I believe that getvmode should see your camera as PAL. I
also set the frame size to PAL manually so that it is full frame, not
      half frame.

      cheers good help!
in addition I discovered that the jit.qt.grab object accepts also a write message and writes the video directly to disc.
so I eleminated my performance problems cause I don?t send the video through a jitter matrix anymore...
