I have a quite complex patch with many bpatchers, abstractions etc. 

Recently, I get frequently the error message "check failed: egetfn 

(setport): corrupt object". When I search it on the list, I get 

rather contradictionary results: Peter Castine says it's something 

like the end of the world, David Zicarelly says in another context it 

can be just ignored. I couldn't find any explanation about what the
