I am currently working on an algorithmic composer for a University project, this project is perhaps a little different in that I am aiming at making it able to transpose through different musical modes, whilst synthesising sound in just intonation. This means that I am generating additional voices on top of, and relative to a fundamental bass frequency.

I am loading a set of bass notes into a matrixctrl object, then in (p voice 1) using another matrixctrl to dictate what intervals to stack on top of these bass notes. This subpatch runs through a routine to determine what notes are available from the current musical mode selected, and convert them into justly intonated intervals. The problem lies with stacking intervals on top of each other, I found that without some form of contextual control, dissonances and ugly frequency clashes can easily happen. Therefore, I have taken the output interval, (the integer in the (p voice) patches right before it goes into the (p justintonationconverter) object, and sent this to the next (p voice) subpatch in the sequence, in order to control a vexpr object, to shift any selected undesirable intervals to more desirable ones, based on the context of what is stacked underneath them. In practice this seems to work, but as demonstrated in the preset included in the presentation mode of this patch - the timing is completely off. There seems to be some problem with retriggering, or a data flow problem, which Ive been scratching my head for two days trying to figure out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I hope I have explained the problem adequately - if you require any further information please dont hesitate to ask.

have you yet noticed that when you change modes and/or key within the same just tuning scale that you can not come back to the original frequencies when you switch back? :P

solving this - by making rulesets when to choose what (as seen in hermode tuning) - is on my to do list since 1673.

I would suggest you throw most of the patch away and start fresh with voice creation.

1 bassnotes, 2 basspositioninscale and ask many times in "voice" and "eval" patches

by running zl.lookup and then shifting and transposing it , and prepairing several "results"

Instead you should use that current bass note which is anyway the first

value that gets posted when running seq step executes

which is currently played bass note ???
