I've noticed buggy behaviour when writing replies. I can't jump to a previous position in the text using the mouse. The cursor is jumping but keyboard input always adds to the very end of the text. So I can't do corrections without deleting all text backward to the position. I've noticed this since some weeks even on different maschines / devices.

If it helps: It just happened and i'm in firefox. Anyone else?

yeah since about 4 weeks in most cases you can not edit stuff after writing it. 

sometimes it is okay for a day or so and then it comes back. 

first i thought it is because i often use protected line breaks (another strange behaviour that you need to use them) but it seems more at random when it happens.

[2nd edit: trying an edit again after the fact but this time to test if cursor can jump back to beginning, seems to work fine, too]

i'm not having any probs like this... i'm on MacOS BigSur 11.2.3, Firefox 88.0.1

I'm able to go back to old posts and edit and the cursor doesn't jump or anything like what was mentioned so far.

Isn't there this Lady, don't remember her name now, she does the webdesign. She needs to be notified.

But could that be caused by some design problem of the page code? What should mess with the input field while user is writing.

oh i see, i was going by Roman mentioning the editing problem... i thought that was the same as yours. i suppose you could try writing to support@...

but also, i don't have any probs jumping, selecting, editing, writing on new replies either... i think the problem still needs to be traced a bit more maybe(?)

yep, that is why everyone thinks it might be his fault.

What you see here happens often: the input field is in a buggy state. I'm setting the cursor somewhere into the text and try to hit backward delete. The cursor is jumping back to the end of the text and deletes there. I try to select a part of the text and hit delete and nothing happens. Same on my phone which is a totally different browser.

@C74 do you have any statement why this has not been fixed yet. Is it hard to fix? Do you lack personal to take care of it? It's not even possible to copy the written text when the bug occures and paste somewhere else.

Of course, I reported this officially a while ago. The reply was that this is already known and looked into.

it is always wise to make a personal backup of useful data such as this forum, just in case things disappear all of a sudden.

at archive.org everything is valid and working - in theory - but the forum entries there most of the time dont load and of course most pictures are missing.

havent seen synthesisters in a while, for that matter, haha.

if anyone knows how to easily suck all the messages from the site and how to browse and search in them locally, that would be great.
