I am trying to make a looping machine in gen~ and embed it in the Bela platform, an audio dedicated microprocessor based on the Beaglebone black.

In my gen~ patch I have a data buffer specific for an undo function. When the recording of a loop stops, a for loop is running from 0 to the Loop Size (in samples), copying the contents of the loop into the undo buffer. When undo is pressed, a similar process is used (a for loop) to copy the contents of the undo buffer into the loop buffer. Here is an example of the code I use:

if (delta(Record) == -1) {
for (i = 0; i <= LoopSize; i += 1) {                                 
    poke(UndoBuffer,peek(BufferName,i,Local_LoopN),i,UndoChannel); 
} 
}

The whole setup seemed to work fine with gen~. But when loading the program onto Bela, there seem to be "underrun" problems, meaning a number of audio blocks (around 50) are being lost in the process. It took me a while to figure out that it was this for loop that caused the problem.

Could anyone suggest a better or different way to copy the contents of the data buffer
