Delay/metro/pipe - which one to use and how?

    Hi there.
At the moment, I have a patch that will make a chord out of a single note, but I want it to play the notes at different times (to make an arpeggio) .. I've tried all sorts, but I'm completely lost because none of it seems to work.. I'm sure I have to send bangs and things, but I'm not sure which other object I should be using (delay/metro/pipe/others) because they all seem to do the same sort of thing, and yet I can get none of them to work!
I'm sure I'm missing something simple!
This is my patcher at the moment, though the left hand side of it has changed about three hundred times in the last couple of hours!
Thank you all so much in advance for any good advice!

I know this isn't maybe the right thing to do, I should try and help you with your patch but check these objects out:
the one you'll find handy is mxj ajm.seq
check the help file and it has arp modes
Hope I'm helping and not just overcomplicating
