Hi! My first post (and hopefully not last). I bought a second hand optical mouse that I would like to disassemble for using the buttons and stuff as controllers in MAX. But I quickly realized while controlling something in MAX it also still functions as a normal mouse and my cursor moves, buttons click, and you can understand my problem :)

So somehow I want to disable it as a mouse for the operating system. Is that possible? I'm sitting on a Mac.
