DSP changes force quits max

hello

I use max patches for my monome and sometimes i have issues whenever i try to open dsp.

So let me recreate what i do to have this problem occur.

sometimes it happens and other times it does not happen.

Anyway.

I open a patch try and click on dsp to change device however it closes before the window even presents itself.

I have max 6 and i7 macbook pro(2011)

again sometimes it happens and other times it does not.

It is kind of not usable if i can't open my dsp at all sometimes.

Do you think the issue could lie within a particular patch?
