I've been doing a lot of multi-channel audio work lately. Finally starting to write "widget" patches and bpatcher them into other projects so development goes quickly. So far I write patches specific to audio installation situations... For example, this time I have a 5.1 channel system so all the software gears to 6 channels out. I'm at the point of thinking about a dynamic input/output patch that would adjust the amount of inputs/outputs based on the hardware you connect, or based on your manual input selection. I'd love to have a base in/out patch that could be more universal in regards to hardware connected.

Has anyone out there worked on this sort of thing or seen someone else's project? Please share ideas/patches/etc.
