Is it possible to apply operations such as addition to individual lines of data in a coll object?

Also is it possible to immediately dump all data from one coll into another coll? I've been coming up with complicated workarounds involving counters and uzis but it seems like there must be some simple way I'm not thinking of.

copying content can be done by the "refer" message. (well not exactly copying, but getting the same result)

adding new content to a line... i dont know. 

"nsub 2 3 new" will replace the third element at index 2 with "new".

mabye that will also add a new entry when you do "nsub 2 999 new"? i cant test now and it wont be the most safe solution.

From what I can tell that makes the current coll object point to a different coll? What I was hoping for is to have two named colls with the same initial data, so that I can renumber and do other operations on one of them while the other is unchanged (and vice versa), and periodically replace all the data in one with the current state of the other.
