Wish I could be there, but it's a bit of a trek from London.
I'm curious: what are you going to call it next year?

We'll work on coming up with an 8th reason to attend. Maybe that will convince you.

I don't expect we'll be hosting them annually. (Hmmm, is this reason #8 to attend?)

Gah! This sounds really cool. I would so be there, but of course it's happening the year I finally decided to go to Jazz Fest.
Oh well, have fun everyone. Here's to hoping there will be more of these in the future.

      Hmmm...
Seems like some sort of communal suite/carpool/travel/host thread would be nice. Maybe there could be a sticky on this subject?... It would certainly make the trip more affordable for us current students, recent graduates, and non-west-coast dwellers. :)
Especially seeing as to how this may not be an annual event. It's too scary to just say "well, I can't afford it now so I'll save up for the next one..."

TG playing NY too, although for those who are curious, neither Sleazy nor Chris Carter use Max/Msp, just Abelton Live and other programs.

I like them. And I'm sure they were really fashionable back in '74.

      "Plaid Stallions." My lord.
I would hope - nay, expect - that the Cycling '74 crew had at least
designed and knitted their own cardigans.

This sounds like a great thing, and while I would love to go, I'll be
stuck teaching in NYC (I fantasized about canceling a final for a few
      minutes).
While a major component of the Expo will be the community (if it's not
the major component), is there any chance the talks/presentations will
be streamed or archived somewhere for online consumption?

I second the online consumption request. :)
Would absolutely love to attend, but there's no way I'll be able to, unfortunately.

So I have to choose between expo74 and another conference I want to go to in DC that expo74 overlaps with.
I know from my own experience that the primary value from conferences tends to come from networking, however I'm left wondering at what experience level the the non-api track will be targetted at; as someone who has been using max for nearly a decade and considers themselves pretty advanced, I'm not sure there's much I'd get out of that.
      Thanks

I really have to do one of those IRCAM workshops , one of these days (I live in Paris). but I'll be honest the fee is a little too much for my budget , but jeez I really really do want to participate. IRCAM is like a Mecca for us nerds.
