Im under Max 4.6 (still..) ; in my file preferences I used to list 

one main path corresponding to a main folder in which I had all my 

third-party externals sorted in individual sub-folders, and 

Now for some reason (probably since I re-installed Max) Max wouldn't 

see any file located in a subfolder; any external I want to use has 

to be directly on the named destination .. (or in the "externals" 

Anyone has any idea about that ? Is there anything I forgot to do 

again when re-installing to make it look through all sub-paths ?

No problem with subfolders here. However, Max 5 is no longer resolving *aliases* to subfolders.

You on Mac OS? I think Windows "shortcuts" were never supported.
