I'm trying to use a library inside an MSP external. The library only processes float32. Does the perform method in an MSP external have to process doubles? If so, can you imagine a fast way of casting the incoming double arrays to float , and then back?

Hi -- Yes, Max always processes audio at 64-bit (doubles). Unfortunately, you will need to copy to 32-bit floats for each sample.
