when I go full-screen, the projection blacks-out.
The problem appears to be caused by using millions of colors on a
beige G3. However, thousands of colors looks weak.
I'm using jitter to create optical effects based on high color
contrasts. The work is to be installed in a gallery, and I'm wanting
to use the old G3 to run the software. I'm using os 9.1, and the
processor is a 233mz with 384mb ram. The video processor, a ATI
64_3DUpro has 4mb ram.
I'm wondering where the limitations of the image lie - if I upgrade
the vram to 6mb, will that get me millions of colors? If I install
another graphics card? If I run os 10.2.something? Are the
limitations of the G3 such that it seems better to cut and run?
