Hartmann Nuke controller

    Nov 22 2007 | 10:39 am
    Hi list,
I am trying to find a way to utilize my old Hartmann Nuke controller
without buying "Nuke4All" (mainly because I want to learn more about
Max along the way, not because I am a cheapskate..;)
It is not recognized with the HI object, so it seems there should be
an external (like with the wii-remote). I didn't find one in
maxobjects.com or any reference to the nuke controller in the list
    archives.
Google is a bit tricky, it finds many things, few are actually a
reference to the controller, though, much fewer have anything to do
with the controller and/or Max, only one speaks about (unsuccessfull)
tries to integrate the controller into a windows XP project...
has anyone had more luck? or has anyone gone through the external-
programming themselves? that unfortunately is beyond my programming
    skills..
    any help appreciated!
    Kai

I would suspect its a MIDI device. Did you try a simple midi monitor?
On a Mac it would just show up automatically Audio/Midisetup, don't know
      about Windows...

      Hi Kai,
If i'm not mistaken the nuke controller workes with usb. If its not recognized by the HI object you can try the serial object in combination with a USB adapter (otherwise it won't work). You can read about this in the max reference manual page 529.
      Goodluck with it.

yes, I tried, but it doesn't show up in the inputs (I tried a midiin
      object).

yes, I'm on a Mac, but it's not in AudioMIdi setup. Hartmann went out
of business and I think they never wrote a proper MIDI driver for the
      device.
thanks for your help, though. I will keep looking around.
