Has anyone got any advice how to build or know of any max for live devices that allows you to open plugins and virtual VST instruments with a shortcut rather than having to click on the plug in edit button every time you want to see the plug in panel. Annoyingly Ableton live doesn't have a shortcut key for this, and would like to create a workaround to resolve this.

have you checked to see if it is possible to map the edit button to midi or the pc keyboard?

Yeah I've checked this, unfortunately I don't think you can map this to a key command or midi map in Ableton.

might not be what your looking but could it be possible to make a patch that has the vst loaded inside it and set up dials or stuff that controls the vst without having to open it at all ? 

but possibly a command or like a bang to open the plugin that opens the plugin which is loaded within itself ?

if you decide to make a patch with a vst loaded within look at the vst~ help file, there is a lot of functionality there..

you could probably make a midi assignable box in mfl that triggers the open message into vst~
