sorry if this appears twice, having some computer trouble.
I'm working on a big patch which is a combination of two smaller ones, using lots of openGL. I accidentaly opened two fullscreen windows one on top of the other, which didn't crash the patch but did cause a lot of the video to remainas "screen residue" on top of my patcher windows until cleaned out by moving stuff around.
Since then, the performance of my whole system simply sank unbelivably - I'm running max 4.5.5 jitter 1.5, windows xp on a new dual core athlon 4200 , 1 gb ram, geforce 7600. I restarted the computer and max, and still:
on the slab GPU comparison example patch, I get the same result as with CPU patch- around 13 fps, where before I used to get around 150-200 fps at least. Same with all other patches I tried.
Any ideas short of reinstalling everything? what may be causing this?
