I am trying to make a new MfL device which uses the analogue sticks of my Playstation 4 Dualshock Controller to control an XY Pad (I am using the Max for Live XY Pad as the basis for this).

I am able to succesfully receive appropriate input from the analogue sticks, but I am having difficulty making the necessary adjustments to the original Max for Live XY pad file.

I thought that if I simply feed the live.numbox parameter (connected to the pictslider) with a number stream from the analogue sticks, everything would work fine. 

However, although I can get the knob on the pictslider to visually represent what is happening with the analogue sticks, it does not have any impact on the mapped parameters (the only impact which I have observed by moving the analogue sticks is that sometimes the mapped parameters go to their extreme values, but I don't know why).

My suspicion is that there are some things beneath the surface of the patch (which I don't fully understand) that I have not considered (I have tried playing about with the patch which evaluates the state of the mouse press, and overriding this if I am using the dualshock pad, but this doesn't do the trick either).

If anyone has any tips on how I could overcome this, I would really appreciate the help. I have been stuck for quite some time now.
