    Hi,
    How do I translate 16nd 8nt 16n etc to 1/8 - 1/12 - 1/16 etc.
    Thanks

I assume this is for some display purpose.
Probably a coll lookup would be easiest.

You can also use two of the prototypes included with Max to do the conversion:

Regarding time formats it would be nice to have also support of "beats" as float.
Such values are especially used in M4L at many places.
For example, [translate notevalues beats] with input 16n would give 0.25.
Is there a technical reason why this is not implemented?

That makes sense. It's on the list.
      Thanks

      Thanks
Anyone made a translation to fractions only, so I can display in live.dial

But keep in mind that dotted notes cannot be translated to fractions of the form 1/X.
For example, 16nd would be 3/32.

      thanks,
what would 1/1T and 1/2D translate to?
    • Nov 02 2011 | 11:00 am
      1/1T = 1/1 * 2/3 = 2/3
      1/2D = 1/2 + 1/4 = 3/4

ehhm could you please help me do something similar for a really slow but still synced lfo?
several bars for one cycle would be cool!
      thanks!

Durations of several bars cannot be represented as note values.
It must be handled with a multiplication factor, see f.e. the standard device 'Max Api Ctrl1LFO'.
