Hello, I need a patch that does following and I was wondering if anyone could help me build it or teach me how to? I can barely make a sinus tone in Max and I need this patch within a few days. The patch should be able to do following:

Play a video in fullscreen - start and stop the video using a MIDI Keyboard

Play at least fire sound files - start and stop separately using a MIDI Keyboard

Using echo effect with feedback on audio files - the effect should start and stop using a midi keyboard

Echo time and feedback should be adjustable and able to save in presets

Record sound with a Microphone - start and stop using a midi keyboard

Play the recording - start and stop using a midi keyboard

Level on all audio files should be adjustable and able to save in a preset

When the patch is open, all files (video and audio) should be loaded

A few days to learn a programming environment? Well ...

If you have already basic knowledge you can scan the help patches, copy what is useful and glue it together, somehow. For echo+feedback you rather want to use [vst~] and load an AU or VST plugin.

There are many resources to get started with Max, and most all of them will cover the sort of patcher you are trying to build. The classic approach is to go into Help->Reference, and navigate to the Max and MSP tutorials. There are also many youtube series and other resources scattered online.

So far i've put together this, though it's all a big mess and I can't figure out how to make the video part go fullscreen.

So far i've put together this, it's all very rough and many of the things aren't working. Anyone know how to fix it slightly?

rather than sending a half-finished patch and asking to "fix it up", why not ask a specific question about a specific function you are having trouble with-- that way someone may decide to help you

You can select your patches, then choose "Edit"->"CopyCompressed" and then paste them here like so:

then, other people can simply copy that which i've pasted above and paste into their own empty/blank patchers to see it.

If you do the same for the above patch i posted, you'll see some stuff which explains some of the audio part of your questions(i felt it too boring just to trigger one hit on a sample with one midi note so i had midi notes trigger on/off to sequencing of kick, cymbal, and clap). It also plays with delays, etc... poke around, it's a patch that shows much beginner-level audio stuff.

You should pace yourself in learning too... try learning max and msp(data and audio) first, then add video to your knowledge once understanding those first(or else, if you have no interest in audio, you could learn just max/midi stuff first and then go straight to video). In any case, try to learn just one of the tasks posted in the list of your first post here at a time. Each task in that list could be attempted by yourself in a patch and then asked about in its own separate thread. Asking about all of that in one thread is too general for people to focus on(and most will not answer because it would take too much time to think of something which could demonstrate everything all at once).

If you copy the above patch and paste into a blank patcher within Max, you'll see some basics which can show some of the answers to your questions about triggering with MIDI and playing with audio(you should pace yourself, and split your learning into smaller parts... try learning these basics first, then add video questions later perhaps even in a separate thread on its own...).
