IIDC control on Intel Mac

I have just recently, at last, tested a few things on an new Intel Mac Mini. I found, to my great disapointment, I must say, that jit.qt.grab's control of IIDC parameters seemed broken. "getiidclist" returns a bunch of gibberish that doesn't correspond to any real parameter. When I try to change parameters that I know are valid, for instance, "iidc_state gain val 0.5", I get errors saying that something can't be found.
I think someone asked about this earlier but got no reply. Does anyone know if there is a way to work around this? I need to automatically set the camera parameters when someone opens a patch. Image control messages work, but don't allow me to turn some settings from automatic to manual.
    Cheers,
    Jean-Marc
